Cas Coovadia, the MD of the Banking Association of South Africa, has been tasked to act as caretaker CEO for the Business Unity South Africa (BUSA).
This comes after the resignation of Nomaxabiso Majokweni as the CEO of the federal business lobby group BUSA.
The organisation said in an announcement Coovadia will act as caretaker CEO to provide strategic support during the organisation’s transition.
Coovadia will continue to serve as the CEO of the Banking Association of South Africa.
The BUSA statement said “This period of transition is a crucial one as BUSA reshapes itself to play a critical role in providing a united voice for business.”
“Coovadia’s appointment follows consultation with BUSA members and stakeholders, subsequent to the resignation of Ms Nomaxabiso Majokweni as the CEO. Ms Majokweni will work with Mr Coovadia and acting Chief Operating Officer Fergus Marupen to ensure a smooth transition.”
BUSA has begun the process of finding the appropriate CEO to drive its future operating model and strategy.”
