A BBBEE growth drive for call centre operator; Ocular

Contact centre solutions provider, Ocular Technologies, is well positioned for growth partly as a result of maintaining the highest rating available in the BBBEE scorecard.

Established in 2003, Ocular Technologies is a specialist enterprise communications company and turnkey services provider.

In a statement released yesterday the 100% black owned operator, Ocular Technologies, announced that it has reclaimed a broad-based black economic empowerment (BBBEE) rating of Level 1. The rating was certified by BBBEE rating agency SERA.

Ebrahim Dinat, chief operating officer at Ocular Technologies said “As a Level 1 contributor with a procurement recognition level of 135 percent, the company is well positioned to offer its customers better procurement options”.

This plays a role in underscoring the company’s commitment to transformation.”

“Ocular focused tirelessly on the seven pillars of the generic scorecard – ownership, management and control, employment equity, skills development, preferential procurement, enterprise development and socio-economic development,” said Dinat.

“However, we will not let the legalities of B-BBEE overshadow its core benefits, namely, transformation and empowerment – of the individual, the company and the country as a whole.”

At the same time, said Dinat, Ocular realises the enormous benefits a Level 1 rating provides the company and its clients.
